Samsung went official with two new handsets powered by its Bada operating system, namely Samsung Wave 2 (S5250) and Samsung Wave 2 Pro (S5330). Bada is still the same and hinges on the Social Hub, that lets users to organize their social media life, email, IM and messages in one easy to access place.
The director of Samsung Mobile UK, Paul Wilkens has said, “One of the great things about the Bada platform is it’s so configurable. We can apply it to the high end Wave, or to the cheaper Wave 2 Pro; we can apply it to 2 CPU and 1 CPU devices – other platforms cannot drill down to so many types of phones.”
The Samsung Wave 2 is a tablet phone with 3.2-inch LCD screen ( 240 x 400 pixels ), 80MB internal memory expandable up to 16GB using slot, TouchWiz UI, Bluetooth A2DP, Wi-Fi, 1200 mAh battery, EDGE, A-GPS, Samsung’s Social Hub, MicroSD card support and a 3MP camera with SD video recorder. The main difference between the Samsung Wave 2 Pro and Samsung Wave 2 and is that the Wave 2 Pro has a full QWERTY keyboard, while the Wave 2 is a touch-only device.
The New Samsung Wave S5250 and Wave S5330 should arrive in a nice range of colors, including metallic black, pearl white and romantic pink. Unfortunately Samsung didn’t confirm an exact release date for the Samsung Wave 2 as apparently this still “depends on operators. Samsung Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro will be available in Southeast Asia and Russia starting August. Samsung didn’t unveil their prices, but the handsets will probably be affordable.

Thanks for the superior article, so I’ve been a samsung user for roughly five years now, and I latterly upgraded from a samsung omnia i910 to the Samsung Wave and thus far I’m loving it! (I do leave out some features of my omnia even though) I am from Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada, I used to be originaly going to wait it out for the galaxy s to arrive on the bell network but determined to shop for the wave as an alternative and retailer myself $400.
