Samsung Electronics just introduced a new rugged Android smartphone in Galaxy series, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Xcover. The Galaxy Xcover features an 3.65-inch touchscreen display with backed by scratch-resistant tempered glass and IP67 standard certification smartphone.
Samsung Xcover rugged smartphone is resistant against shock, splash, water proof (up to 1m for 30 mins) and dust. It’s can work under any weather or extreme work environment and make it ideal for users with an active lifestyle that work in outdoor. Samsung Galaxy Xcover also packs with Digital Compas, GPS receiver, Predictive text input (Swype) and support multimedia files, such as MP4/H.264/H.263 player and MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover comes with powerfull capacity with powered by 800MHz processor, 512 of memory, dual camera with a VGA front facing camera for video chats and a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focuse and LED flash for take a picture or record videos, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, microSD up to 32GB for memory expansion, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) and Google’s Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) for operating system.
In term of connectivity, the 3.65 inch Galaxy Xcover will be equipped with micro USB 2.0 slot, 3.5mm headphones jack, bluetooth with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and works on quad-band GSM and dual-band UMTS / HSDPA provide up to 7.2 Mbps for download speeds and up to 5.76 Mbps for upload speeds. According to Samsung Germany press release, Samsung Galaxy Xcover smartphone is scheduled to release in October for Germany market, but price is unknown for the moment.
